New Organizer Workshop: Becoming an Effective Professional Organizer (open to the public) @ Boston Waltham Embassy Suites

Thinking about becoming a Professional Organizer? Learn from experience!

Learn more about the organizing profession by attending our dynamic New Organizer Workshops (NOW), where experienced organizers share their expertise through presentations and in-class exercises to help you learn the business aspects of organizing.

We’ll answer all your questions and you’ll leave with reference materials and a resource list including suggested items for your toolkit, websites of the various Professional Associations you might consider joining and a list of organizing books and publications.

Becoming an Effective Professional Organizer topics include business lifestyle, client relationships, ethics and safety considerations, professional associations and certification programs. Presenters are Maryann Murphy and Kathy Vines.

Note: We recommend attending our Running a Successful Organizing Business workshop after you’ve attended this one.

Instructors

Each New Organizer Workshop is led by two instructors representing different segments of the organizing industry. Instructors are experienced NAPO-New England members with at least five years of experience in the industry.

Cost

$60 ($40 for NAPO-New England members) per workshop. NAPO-NE members, you will need a promo code to get the member price. Log in to this site and find the promo code on the promo code page (under the “Information for Members” menu) before registering.

Cancellation Policy

In the event that NAPO-New England needs to cancel a workshop, pre-registered attendees will be notified and given the option to attend a future workshop within one year from the cancellation.

If you registered and paid for a workshop and cannot attend, you must email the NOW Chair at least 24 hours before the workshop start time. You will have the option to attend the workshop any time it is delivered within one year from the date of the original workshop.

If you know you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can open up your spot for someone else.

Missed Workshop Policy

If you registered and paid for a workshop and you do not attend, and you would like to attend the workshop on another date, you must email the NOW Chair within 24 hours of the missed workshop’s start time.

If your request is approved, you can attend the workshop any time it is delivered within one year from the date of the original workshop.

Transactional Lean is a methodology of streamlining processes by identifying and removing waste in a process.

This presentation will provide you with a basic concept of Lean and, more specifically, the 7 deadly wastes defined by Lean. Learn how to identify these wastes and how to apply them with business and residential clients alike.

In case of inclement weather, the NAPO-NE Board of Directors may cancel our monthly NAPO-NE business meeting in order to ensure safety. Should there be a snow emergency declared in the city of Waltham, MA, the President and the Treasurer will make a decision regarding the meeting no later than 2:00 pm that same day. The President will direct the website chair to reflect the change on the NAPO-New England website, will send out an email to the membership, and will notify the Boston/Waltham Embassy Suites of the meeting cancellation. Members should not call the Boston/Waltham Embassy Suites. Liaisons to Programming, Greeters, Associate Members, Facilitator, etc. will contact appropriate people to inform them of the cancellation.

Note: We recommend attending our Becoming an Effective Professional Organizer workshop first, as the exercises in that workshop will be useful in the business planning exercises in this one.
